Muhammad Azmi Umer obtained a PhD degree in Computer Science from Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (KIET), Pakistan in 2022. His PhD thesis was mainly related to the security of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) using Machine Learning techniques. Prior to joining iTrust he has been working as a Team Lead (Data Engineering) at Codex LLC, Karachi. He has worked on developing Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Information Retrieval based solutions. He has been a visiting fellow at the iTrust in 2017 and 2022. He has conducted several hands-on sessions related to Machine Learning including 14th IEEE Latin-American Conference on Communications in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, & at University of Strathclyde, UK. Azmi has several publications in different venues in the domain of Machine Learning and Cyber Security. He has been the recipient of several scholarships including ACM SIGSOFT CAPS Travel Grant, University of Karachi Alumni Association Washington Baltimore Scholarship, & merit scholarships from Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology.
