Mohammadreza Chamanbaz was born in Shiraz, Iran in 1985. In 2008 he received his BSc in Electrical Engineering from Shiraz University of Technology, Shiraz, Iran. In 2014 he received his PhD from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore in control science. He was with Data Storage Institute, Singapore as research scholar from 2010 to 2014. He was also postdoctoral research fellow in Motion, Energy and Control lab Singapore University of Technology and Design from Sep 2014 to Sep 2015 and iTrust Centre for Research in Cyber Security from Oct 2015 to Jul 2016 and Applied Complexity Group from Aug 2016 to Mar 2017. He was Assistant Professor in Arak University of Technology, Arak, Iran from Mar 2017 to Jan 2019.

He is a member of IEEE Technical Committee on Computational Aspects of Control System Design (CACSD).

His research activities are mainly focused on probabilistic and randomized algorithms for analysis and control of uncertain systems, convex optimization and robust control.
