David I Urbina is a Ph.D.  candidate in Software Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. He holds a M.S. in Computer Science with a Major in Software Engineering from that institution and a B.S. in Computer Science from the Universidad Simón Bolívar, Venezuela.

His research and professional interests fall on the areas of Cyber-security, Digital Forensics and Industrial Control System Security. Currently, he is a research member of the Cyber Security Research and Education Center at the University of Texas at Dallas under the co-supervision of Dr. Bhavani Thuraisingham and Dr. Alvaro Cárdenas .

David is an active member of the Safety & Security Committee of the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT), for which he has helped to raise awareness about the Cyber-security risks and countermeasures on the water and waste water industry.
