The paper by Stefanos Leonardos, Daniel Reijsbergen and Georgios Piliouras, “Weighted Voting on the Blockchain: Improving Consensus in Proof of Stake Protocols”, won the best paper award at the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency (ICBC). In the paper, a new approach for improving the performance of blockchain consensus protocols was presented. The approach was based on the weighting of participants’ votes by their historical accuracy record, using established results from game theory and voting theory. Congratulations!
