About CISS 2024

Critical Infrastructure Security Showdown 2024 (CISS 2024) is a premier and one-of-its-kind cyber exercise in operational technology. This international exercise is held entirely remotely and opened to invited international participants. CISS 2024 is sponsored by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, co-organised with  the Digital Intelligence Service, Singapore Armed Forces, and in partnership with the National Cybersecurity R&D Laboratories at the National University of Singapore.

Theme: The Orthanc Obstacles

The 8th iteration of CISS 2024 returns with a brand new modality and features: 

  1. Single-stage, 48-hour CTF
  2. Hybrid platforms: Physical critical infrastructure testbeds and cyber twins
  3. CTF challenges:
    1. Usage of datasets generated by iTrust critical infrastructure testbeds
    2. Contributions by iTrust collaborators
  4. Live scoreboard
  5. No cap on number of teams per organisation, though each team will still be limited to 8 persons

Registration for CISS 2024

Participation in this exclusive and unique exercise is open to all Red Teams. Red Teams can form up to 8 members per team, with no cap on the number of teams per organisation. Please register here by 1 Aug 2024 15 Aug 2024.

Exercise Modality

CISS 2024 returns with a brand new 48-hour Capture The Flag modality. Red Teams will engage in operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) challenges utilising testbed-generated datasets provided by iTrust. The CTF will involve solving challenges on ICS artefacts and interacting with OT platforms, which include both physical testbeds and cyber twins. Red Teams will face a new array of process challenges designed to test their ingenuity in identifying threats and capitalising on the opportunities presented.

  • The 48-hour CTF will be conducted remotely. Connection details will be shared at the Red Team briefing on Tue, 10 Sep, 1pm (GMT +8).
  • Main mode of communication will be through Discord. Please create an account if you do not already have one. Discord server will be shared at the briefing.
